The Contemporary Music Scene in Basilicata is undergoing a period of profound renewal, characterized by the growing presence of innovative entities capable of combining technology, creativity, and social cohesion. Among these, a decisive role is played by the BASIC – Basilicata Sound Innovation Community Social Promotion Association, officially founded in 2015 in Picerno with a deed of incorporation registered with the Potenza Chamber of Commerce. Today, BASIC represents a benchmark for the growth of electronic music and contemporary artistic productions in the Lucanian territory.

BASIC Records and its association place at the heart of their mission the creation of a social multimedia hub dedicated to the production, promotion, and distribution of music in the third millennium.

From the outset, the association has placed at the heart of its mission the creation of a multimedia social hub dedicated to the production, promotion, and distribution of music in the third millennium. The aims set out in the statute confirm a vision that combines innovation, inclusion, and cultural development: BASIC intends to offer tools, spaces, and skills to give a voice to emerging musicians and creatives, with the aim of fostering personal relationships, professional growth, and dialogue between local, national, and international realities.

This perspective fits perfectly into the evolution of the Contemporary Music Scene in Basilicata, an ecosystem in which new digital technologies enable the creation of unprecedented collaborations and the widespread dissemination of artistic content. One of BASIC's most innovative ideas was to integrate a recording studio, a mastering studio, a web platform, and an organized event management system within the association, as confirmed by the Chamber of Commerce registration.

The association's structure has been designed to be democratic and collaborative: every artist who joins the BASIC community not only benefits from the services offered, but also becomes a promoter of collective activities. This participatory model, based on free access, sharing of skills, and reinvestment of profits in social activities, has established a new paradigm in the Contemporary Music Scene in Basilicata, making it more accessible, sustainable, and innovation-oriented.

Another key element is the association's ability to organize events and festivals that raise the profile of the region. One of the most notable of these is the LUCUS Fest, an event where local musicians have had the opportunity to perform alongside internationally renowned artists. This meeting between emerging talent and established professionals has helped to consolidate the visibility of electronic music from Basilicata, strengthening the bond between the artistic community and the public.

Over the years, BASIC has also expanded its audio service, adding high-level professional equipment such as Mackie and QSC loudspeakers, Midas mixers and lighting systems. This investment has enabled the association to offer events with high quality standards, further increasing the prestige and credibility of the local music movement.

Today, BASIC is made up of sound engineers, designers, social media managers, developers, musicians, and DJs, united by a common goal: to grow the Contemporary Music Scene in Basilicata through a community-based, digital, and forward-looking model. The association demonstrates how a local entity can become a creative laboratory capable of generating culture, opportunities, and innovation.
